Saharan tourism: Between Desert and palm

To the desert, southern Tunisia coats of ocher earth and golden sands. To the desert, southern Tunisia coats of ocher earth and golden sands which flow fortified villages clinging to the mountain, beautiful in their bygone splendor.   Beyond the desolate vastness of Chott el Jerid, the Sahara became king, leaving occasionally squirt life in some particularly welcoming oasis. A sea of orange-pink dune short of sight to the horizon where the sun slowly sinks a huge glowing. There, in the rippling sand waves shadows growing, almost in silhouette, the silhouette of a camel caravan betrays the very presence of life in this mineral world. Motionless, as if frozen in anticipation of dusk, the desert seems to be slowly sucked into the sky. In the sweetness of late afternoon, the scent of flowers in the oasis of Ksar Ghilane finally dares to fly in the air suddenly lighter, without fear of being smothered in flight by the oppressive heat of the day. Respectful of the moment, men, silent and contemplative, seem to pay homage to the sun disappears. Almost moved to the purity of the spectacle before them.

A visit to the Tunisian south

A visit to the Tunisian south

It is in southern Tunisia that Marhba.tn community went this weekend to enjoy the impressive nature and fascinating landscapes of the region, especially as the weather was perfect for such a visit.

The adventure began Friday, March 28, 2014, and it was with great pleasure and enthusiasm that the band took its way, as always elsewhere.

Visit Matmata and Douz

The move by the two cities is essential to enjoy the wealth and beauty of the south. Matmata, the small Berber village has opened the doors of the desert and we were more than happy. Small ancestral homes still preserved showcased the richness of this city, and we were even invited to discover one of these houses.

We then continued to Douz and there we left to explore the desert with camels back, typical walk in the area.

Visit Tozeur, Nafta and Tamarza:

This second day was full of discoveries and emotions. Welcome to the heart of the desert, it was soon immersed in the peaceful and relaxing atmosphere of the place. A carriage ride was ideal to make the most fascinating landscapes of the oases, and mingle with the beautiful nature of the palm groves.

While in Tamarza, fun continued at the heart of this paradise, where the clear water that flowed through the rocks gave birth to the green palm trees, bringing together the arid generous.

Tozeur to Tamarza, Chott Jerid through to Nafta, the nature store for us full of discoveries.

Jmal Ong and end of the adventure:

Good morning, we left to explore the desert to enjoy the sunrise over the sand dunes. And what a visit to the south can not be concluded that by visiting Ong Jmal, we went there to find out the location of the filming of Star Wars.

Land of wealth and authenticity, southern Tunisia packed full of unusual sites and beautiful landscapes, it is the promise of a change of scenery that provides its visitors.

While everyone enjoyed the visit, we could not find anything and try anything, maybe it was lack of time, or planning?

What about you? What can you offer us for future visits?
